Reddit banned r/ProactiveHealth

I started r/proactivehealth about 6 weeks ago as a space to post and discuss proactive health, longevity and related topics without the influencer guru worship. I really got into the community building aspect and worked very hard to find interesting stories every day.

Yesterday, I hit 1k members which had been my goal for a while and I was proud that hard work does pay off!

Alas, late last night the subreddit got banned by the Reddit admins without any explanation. I filed the appeal form asking for details but it’s sort of a sad moment. I am not aware of breaking any rules and considering how much self promotion happens in many other subs I’m surprised I was targeted.

I am too old to rely on the dopamine hit from seeing people engage with my social media posts, but I did enjoy building a community of like minded folks discussing evidence backed medicine.

I don’t know whether I will be able to revive the community or whether I should just go back to posting in my own website.

I’ll try to post an update here, but maybe my account will be banned next 🤷‍♂️
